I was grateful that her birthing philosophies were open and flexible to the particular needs of the mother, family, and baby—never tried to push one method over another. This was my first baby and I really wanted the support and experience of someone who had done this before who could help coach me through a natural birth, and that was what I found in Becky. She was kind and approachable, and very knowledgable. I could ask her any question without feeling silly and she gave me the confidence I needed to try for the birth experience I wanted. In the end, things didn't go quite as planned, but I was still very thankful to have her calming presence and experience with us at the time.
