This was the second time in two years that we used Mary Beth. We had a very traumatic csection with our first birth so we very much wanted to try for a VBAC the second time around. We had great nurses and a midwife and if it wasn't for Mary Beth keeping me on task not letting me forget what the end goal was who knows how the birth would've went. When we hit what felt like the 18th hour she reminded me of how tired I was and that getting an epidural would let me rest and let my body progress the way it needed to. Getting an epidural was not something I wanted to do but something I ultimately needed to do so I could still have the birth I wanted. We got to watch her being born with a big mirror and it was the most empowering fulfilling thing that I have ever accomplished.
