We were lucky enough to work with Christina after the birth of our 2nd child, she was helped us as a postpartum night doula from February through March 2020. I wish we had her with our first! My husband and I were both unsure of how comfortable we would be wish someone staying in our house overnight. We were also concerned about the expense. It was so easy to trust Christina in our home caring for our precious newborn son, and I cannot imagine having to go through this period without her. She was calming and nurturing from the moment we met her.
As a breastfeeding mom, I felt she offered the exact support I needed and was very flexible depending on what worked for us to get through the night. For us it was having her sleep in our guest room with the baby in a bassinet, bottle feeding and diaper changing as needed. I woke up to pump after a 4-5 hour stretch of sleep (and even longer after I realized I had a good milk supply), and then went back to sleep. We were so grateful to get the long stretches of sleep we needed in those early months.
We also appreciated having her expertise, again something I wish we had after our first baby. I know we would not have had so much success getting our newborn to sleep through the night without her. She could tell the difference between hunger cues and when the baby just needed a little bit of comfort to get back to sleep, something we didn't know to look for. This got him sleeping longer stretches almost immediately. She gave us tips for nights she wasn't around.
Our experience with Christina was better than we could have hoped for. She is so kind, and we all miss her! I would work with her again in a heartbeat, and I have her on speed dial if we need more help through any sleep regressions. I sincerely cannot say enough good things, which is why this review is so long.
