Iman has and will continue to be such an important part of our baby's life! From the very first meeting, I felt relieved by her calming presence and knowledge of the birthing process. We had an eventful week 38 and 39, with baby suddenly breeching, a failed effort to turn him, a scheduled c-section, a cancelled c-section since he turned back at the last minute, and then a 65-hour induced birth since the doctors were concerned he was so late.
Through all of the drama, Iman was there with me, awake and present and comforting. For hours at a time, she would stay with me when everyone else was sleeping, and walked me through the pros and cons of each step during induction and stayed to witness the birth and help in my immediate recovery.
After settling at home, we booked her to help us with postpartum life. She would answer questions about nursing, sleep, and general life as new parents. I don't think it's a coincedence that the first night after her first postpartum visit, he finally slept through the night after we took her advice! Her visits allowed me to rest and get small tasks done -- making a world of difference in my mental health.
We continue to stay in touch with her and our son just adores her. Our only regret is that we didn't connect with her sooner or use her more during those first few postartum weeks. As a friend, she continues to be a comfort and a light to our family -- we love Iman!
