Working with Ellie was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Passionate, supportive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, brave, selfless, fun and energetic and totally full of love – I can’t recommend her highly enough! Because of her, I was able to achieve the birth of my dreams, against the odds (nervous 1st time mom, big baby). Without her there’s no way I could have done it. There’s not enough space here to fully describe what a hero she has been for me and my family.
I was a 1st time mom hoping for an unmedicated birth. I was unsure about a doula, as I am intensely introverted and self-conscious, and inviting a stranger into something so personal was scary. But a few minutes into our 1st meeting, I already felt more relaxed and validated. She’s so easy to get along with, lots of fun, glowing with boundless positive energy, and exuding an enthusiasm and comfort within herself that is beautiful and contagious. I felt able to open up. She listened to my fears and made me feel like they were normal, and manageable.
During my third trimester, she was there for me without fail. She helped with everything: recipes, padsicles, exercise, breastfeeding, just being a friend when either of us needed one. She came to appointments & classes with me. I was blown away by how driven, passionate, and kind she was, 100% of the time. She gives so much of herself. It’s inspiring to be around.
At our birth, she was incredible, tireless, completely present. Gentle and unshakeable, even as I lost my cool. She communicated my needs to the doctors when I couldn’t. She encouraged me gently, one manageable move at a time, and never made me feel judged, no matter WHAT I did. Without her strength, her calming presence and her extensive tool kit of tricks & methods, I couldn’t have done it. We achieved the unmedicated birth of our dreams, despite a 9#9oz baby! Can’t thank her enough.
