Testimonial for Kelly Sunshine CD(DONA)
Kelly made the total difference in our birth experience, helping me to feel confident about our birth decisions, the in-hospital care we received for our baby, and providing the best level of care throughout labor for mama, daddy, and baby. We know in our hearts that although we COULD have done it without her, that it HIGHLY likely would not have been the present, emotionally safe, fluid, easy, beautiful, and well-informed experience that we had. Labor was a smooth process with her there, and Mom and Dad were well able to connect and feel the level of love and support between eachother, very likely to an enhanced degree as we were able to concentrate on what we do best, loving and supporting each other while Kelly handled the things that she is an expert in. This was something I was concerned about from the beginning as I didn't want the doula to "replace" my husband, but this was so not the case with Kelly. She also was very attentive to my physical needs, providing massage and perfect encouragement when the contractions got rough and throughout the epidural process. I also cant say enough about the pre-birth explanation and all of her helpful tips, salves, teas, and other preparatory and post-partum ideas and items. I do have to wonder if we would have perhaps given birth late, gone to the hospital or gotten an epidural too early, or ended up with a C-section without her coaching us from the beginning. It was great to know what the heck was happening during such a blur of a time, as well as have the complete record of events and even photos to boot. So grateful. Everything was awesome, thanks again Kelly!
