From our first day working with Justine to the postpartum recovery period, I felt that I had a straight-talking advocate to support my husband and I during our big transition as a family. In our initial in-home consultations, Justine and Ale listened closely to our questions and concerns about the birthing process for our firstborn and tailored their educational materials to our needs. For me, however, the true value of this preparation and support became apparent during the labor and delivery process itself. Justine helped me feel empowered to achieve the unmedicated birth that I desired, encouraging me during those intense moments where I started to doubt myself. I was also quite impressed with how she partnered seamlessly with our midwife to help me find more comfortable and effective pushing positions. And in the early postpartum days, she frequently checked in with our family to provide emotional support and encouragement and to connect us with helpful resources to support our goal of exclusively breastfeeding our infant amid some challenges with latching. Throughout our pregnancy, delivery, and recovery, we have felt exceptionally supported and well cared for by this amazing team of doulas.
