Literally Had My Back: We hired Ana after interviewing her and another doula, a process I highly recommend you do. I connected with Ana right away. Warm, affectionate and very knowledgeable, what I needed in a doula. Leading up to labor Ana was there to answer any of my questions, talk me through any decision making I had, and was my biggest cheerleader.With a calming effect on both my husband and I. Being our first pregnancy with no idea what to expect, when to call our midwives & more importantly if everything I was experiencing physically was “normal”. Extremely supportive & used positive affirmations/language that kept us calm & positive. Ana was at our place before active labor kicked in. It was a back labour & I found it challenging. Ana was right by my side, literally had my back, applying pressure to comfort me. Fondly looking back at the experience and remember me yelling, “Ana my back”. At one point during labor she was at my bed side on the floor, applying pressure on my back while I caught up on sleep. It shows her dedication.Ana supported me in my decisions, fed me orange slices, supported my husband & encouraged me to dig deep to push our little miracle out. That and much more. After labor, Ana made us both a meal, cleaned up as we had a home birth & made sure we were cozying up with the baby before she left. Checked in on us days after labor, made sure mama was healing and more importantly resting. She came over with a perennial wash and checked in to make sure baby was latching on and feeding.We still keep in touch & shes always always made herself available to answer any concerns, questions that I have while navigating motherhood. I know we will always be in touch after sharing such an intimate experience.I would, with confidence refer Ana to any one that is looking for a incredible doula.
