My husband and I hired Laura to be our birth doula for the unmedicated birth of our daughter (second child) in May 2019 at the Minnesota Birth Center. Laura was an incredible listener and asked thoughtful questions to truly understand what kind of support we wanted at our birth.
Throughout all our interactions, Laura was kind, gentle, and calm. Her and my husaband worked so well together during my labor. From the moment she walked into the labor room, Laura was so present and focused on what I needed and she helped me feel strong and supported. She applied counter pressure to my back during contractions, offered me water and cold wash cloths in between contractions, and coached me through the whole birth. Her presence was invaluable! I cannot imagine our birth without her. My daughter's birth was very intense (only 3 hours of active labor!). I feel like our labor was short partially due to the fact that this was my second labor but I also truly believe that having the emotional, physical, and practical wisdom of a seasoned, experience doula made a tremendous impact on the ease of my labor.
I cannot recommend Laura highly enough!
