As first-time parents we sought a doula to be a part of our birthing experience to help prepare us ahead of time and to ease our anxieties both before and during the birth. From our initial interaction, Ellie was responsive and knowledgeable, and she consistently exuded positivity and warmth. We felt much more confident about the process as we approached our due date because of her involvement.
During the birth, Ellie exceeded our expectations in every way. I had planned on having an epidural, though due to unforeseen circumstances ended up with an unmedicated birth. Because of Ellie’s calming presence and active involvement (including position change suggestions, cold compresses, encouragement, etc) throughout the process, I can only describe my experience as positive and powerful. And my husband, who runs on the anxious side, felt so much better about the entire process (especially the actual birth) with Ellie’s presence, experience and expertise.
We would have no reservations about recommending Ellie to our dearest friends, and absolutely will hire her again in a few years when we plan to have a second!
