Testimonial for Holly Rogalski
We knew Holly was the perfect doula for us as soon as we met her. My goal was to give birth naturally and I wanted Holly to help me achieve this. At our prenatal visits we worked on pain coping techniques that helped me find my own way of dealing with pain. We also made birth art together. My partner and I still have our pastel drawings of the things we were afraid of- nothing we were afraid of happened, but Holly helped us talk about how to cope with the unexpected. This was a beautiful and important moment for my partner and I. I was able to let go and relax some of my very, very high expectations. Holly came over as soon as I called her and paid close attention to how i was feeling emotionally. She was there to recommend different positions and massage techniques to keep me comfortable. She encouraged nourishment, napping, and a nice bath. She let my partner and I have alone time and stepped in when she felt she could make me even more comfortable. I loved having her there. We did a lot of fun body shaking, back rubbing, deep breathing, and she even had me with my butt in the air and my head by the floor. When my baby seemed to be in a not so ideal position, Holly knew the exact techniques to spin our baby around. This really sped up labor! Anywho, our birth experience was better than anything I could have ever imagined or hoped for and Holly was an essential part of that.
Honestly, the best decision my partner and I made for all of our pregnancy was hiring Holly. We took the most amazing birth class, we had the kick ass midwives, we were traveling to the "more natural" hospital, and all of these thing were really great decisions, but if I could only choose one of these things I would choose Holly. She's amazing at what she does. I am going to have to plan my next baby around her availability!
She's also just kind of the coolest person you'll ever know... You can blame your girl-crush on all that oxytocin.
