I can't say enough about how amazing Kelly Sunshine was in the process of preparing for and giving birth to my beautiful baby boy. I was hesitant about getting doula and the additional expense involved given the huge wave of baby expenses coming at me, but when I talked to Kelly I knew right away I wanted to work with her and that she would be a great fit for me and my family. From the first phone call, all the way to her follow up after my son was born, she was a critical and beautiful part of bringing him in the world that I would never want to do without. As a first time mom, there were so many things I didn't know and so many decisions I didn't know I even had the freedom to make. Kelly empowered me in preparing to be a mother by asking questions and encouraging me to think about what I wanted it all to look like, providing organized and personalized information about the process and the choices/options involved, and made herself available to answer questions or process through things, and was always thoughtful, kind, and warm. During the birthing process, she was the perfect champion - taking charge, cheering me on, and doing things/offering suggestions to help get me finish strong in the way I envisioned, but all in a way that my mother was able to be the primary support person. She handled my delivery day so beautifully and went above and beyond to make me feel safe and supported in every way so I could just focus on having a healthy delivery. Her knowledge and expertise of the birthing process, latest news and "who's who" in labor and delivery in the valley, and her connections are impressive and comforting. No matter what new first time mom anxieties came my way I knew I was in good hands and had all the information I needed to make the best decisions for my son and I. My family and I are SO GRATEFUL for Kelly - the memories I have of having my first child are so much more beautiful because of her. She is the best!
