My husband and I had an amazing experience working with Kelly for the birth of our first baby. Kelly came to our house twice--once to meet us and again at 36-weeks to discuss labor and delivery. She was confident, calm, and warm. When I went into labor, I texted her updates until it was time to go to the hospital. I was 6cm dilated and needed an epidural as soon as I arrived. My contractions were strong, and Kelly got me into a seated position for the epidural. I leaned forward onto her shoulder, and she kept me calm. Once the epidural was placed, she moved me into different positions so that labor would continue to progress quickly. She provided gentle touch and eye contact and answered all of my questions about what washappening. It had been my goal to labor at home for as long as possible. It only took 5 hours after arriving at the hospital for baby girl to arrive. Kelly stayed an extra hour after birth to help with the first latch for breastfeeding. My husband, who had been unsure at first about hiring a doula, said he wants to hire Kelly for any future babies. :)
