Working with Ashlee was the best experience we could have imagined. We were skeptical of hiring a doula because we didn’t know for sure if I’d make it- “all natural”! And I didn’t- thanks to a need for pitocin. But- the prep we did with her before was worth its weight in gold. She helped me work through some very big fears from previous birth experiences, and allowed us to focus on the joy to come. She prayed over us and with us, and my husband said he’s never felt so involved or connected in any of our births. All thanks to Ashlee showing him and modeling for him what I needed. She gave me the courage to speak up for myself about my wants in the hospital, which is huge for someone as non confrontational as I am! In the end- when NOTHING went according to plan, she was there- reading my affirmations, helping me find comfortable positions, holding my hand, gently coaching my husband, and then welcoming our healthy baby boy into the world. We truly can’t give her a high enough recommendation!
