Desirae was my doula for the birth of my daughter, which was a scheduled c-section. I was very nervous going into a major surgery, and Desirae was with me during prep for surgery, keeping me relaxed, anxiety at bay, and even making me laugh. She was right there as I came out of surgery and into recovery and again was such a calm, supportive presence. Not only was she incredibly professional, but she has such a warm manner to her as well. It is really difficult to find people who are able to display both of those qualities, but it also is so important as birth can be scary and messy, and you want to maintain your dignity! Desirae has a commitment to continuous learning and her desire for knowledge is very clear from the moment you meet her. She wants to know all there is to know about all perinatal experiences, challenges, and issues. I dont believe there is anyone who knows as much as she does that doesnt have decades of experience in this area. I would recommend Desirae as both a doula and a friend to anyone who is about to deliver a chlid, whether it is their first or tenth.
