I had a good experience with Heidi and I am glad she attended my birth. I was especially happy with Heidi's pre-birth services and house visits because she got to know and understand me. Her labor simulation and planning for the worst case scenarious was also very helpful.
My labor was fast (7 hours total, 5 of which at the hospital) and it was such a relief finally to see Heidi arrive! She knew what kind of birth I wanted - she had also helped me write up my birth plan - and she helped me have that birth. She held my hand and massaged my body when I was going through the most difficult contractions. I felt Heidi was most helpful when I had to push. She suggested many different positions to find what worked best for me. I had an all natural birth as I had wanted - no interventions! Also she was able to take pictures for my husband and I to view later. I was really thankful for that.
Post partum, Heidi called and visited promptly and I was glad to have her around to help me adjust.
I felt lucky to have Heidi assist my husband and I with the birth of my first child. I would recommend Heidi as a doula for your birth.
