As I came late to the scene, both in terms of my arrival to Canada and in my age for pregnancy (39), I was thrilled to find Stephanie available to be my Doula. I knew there were going to be special challenges because my partner is out of country and my mother was recovering from a surgery. Stephanie is incredibly supportive without pushing an agenda, which is probably the most important trait of a doula considering all opinions and influences thrust upon pregnant women by both their care providers, and well-meaning friends and family. Her unwavering support and tolerance was invaluable throughout what proved to be the most defining time of my life. I leaned on her heavily and I am forever grateful that such an amazing person accompanied me and my little person on this first part of our new lives together.
