As first time parents, we were seeking someone knowledgeable who could help us navigate preparing for labor, birth and delivery. We wanted to go into the whole experience eyes wide open and we found that insightful knowledge in Ellie as our doula. Our baby presented as breech so Ellie provided resources and suggestions in order to try everything to turn our little one. She was proactive in regularly checking in and so very responsive when we had questions. Despite our very best efforts, our baby did not turn so Ellie joined us for our scheduled cesarean section at Exeter hospital’s birthing center. She arrived for the early morning surgery despite the snowy weather conditions in order to provide calming support and set the mood in prep for the big event. Hospital staff even commented on how peaceful the room felt. Following the birth, she was right there to guide first latch and offer other supportive advice as we got acquainted with our new daughter. We are so thankful to have engaged a doula even though we did not have a vaginal birth as Ellie provided consistent counsel that complemented our midwife’s. Hands down would recommend her to anyone interested in having this amazing support as you jump into parenthood!
