Jessica is a truly extraordinary doula. She was incredibly intuitive, informative and sensitive to our needs. She helped us to make sure we took good care of ourselves and were prepared for the arrival of the baby. Her coaching throughout labour was exactly what I needed and her words were my total focus. She worked seamlessly with our midwives and family members so that I felt entirely supported and in no way concerned about everyone getting along. Jessica taught us about everything that the baby was doing but more importantly explained WHY for each and every event. She prepared us for changes and challenges and how to respond so that when these came along we felt empowered. Knowing how to read all the subtle cues a baby gives us so that we can take care of her in the best way was an absolute game changer. There were so many things I would never have noticed or interpreted without her guidance. With my older daughter, breastfeeding was a huge struggle and was painful for the first 4 months. With Jessica's coaching from minutes after the birth I had a completely different approach and never sustained any damage and feeding was comfortable and a joy. I can't tell you what a difference this makes! Her training with Jack Newman makes her a particular expert in the area of breastfeeding and her advice was practical and memorable even in the middle of the night when I could barely remember my own name! Her willingness to answer any questions or just to provide encouragement when a challenge comes along gives parents the boost they need to keep going but more importantly to find the joy in every situation and to cherish these early days and weeks when stress can so easily rob you of that perspective. Knowing we can call on her at any time for support and advice is such a gift and I wish all mums and dads could have access to someone so wise and so kind. I wholeheartedly recommend her and would be very happy to talk to anyone who would like to know more.
