Our family's experience was wonderful! Kelly came to assist in our home when our daughter was 2 weeks old until she was almost 3 months old. At first, a few days a week then at the end I weaned myself from her to one day per week for a few hours.
I had two main goals when hiring Kelly. First was to have someone help me with our newborn, Noelle. In doing this, I would be able to acheive my second goal of balancing our 3 year old, Chloe, through this transitional period in our lives. I wanted it to be a positive expereince for our whole family. Kelly was quick to understand and support that goal. From our consultation, I knew she would be a great fit for us. Kelly is continously positive and helpful. She would come in and immediately either start on the list of things I had for her to do that day. If I couldn't think of anything or frankly, didn't have a free second to come up with anything, she took initiative to busy herself, always in helpful ways. My home has never been cleaner!
During Kelly's time in our home, I felt so much love and support to be the mom I wanted to be during that time frame. I was able to take Chloe for special mommy/me time, leaving Noelle in fantastic care. Kelly helped us to introduce Noelle to a bottle, after I had a soured milk issue and "missed the window" for best time to introduce a bottle. It was a personal and emotional setback for me, but I knew that Kelly was on our side to help us get back on track in anyway she could.
From an emotional viewpoint, because let's face it, its a very hormonal time period after birth, Kelly was my rock. If I was having a rough day, she let me have a rough day. She was always there to offer a kind word or just a listening ear, with no judgement. She continously validated me as a mom and wife. We miss her daily, but know that we can't have her forever.
The next family will be getting a fantastic support system in Kelly! We wish her much success!
