I decided very last minute (at week 38!) that I wanted a doula to help me and my mother, who would be with me, through my birth experience. I interviewed a couple doulas, and Siena impressed me right away with her calm, confident demeanor. Those were the two qualities I was seeking in a doula. I also liked how her emphasis was on preparation. During my labor, she stood with me for every single contraction, either offering me aromatherapy, pushing on my hips, rubbing my back, offering words of encouragement. I always felt like she was 100% present with me during each difficult contraction. She reminded me that the pain was good and the baby was moving down, staving off panic through all parts of the labor. My mom also felt Siena was priceless. My mom would not have known what to do and would have panicked herself, so having Siena there kept both of us calm. I highly recommend Siena as a doula.
