I always dreamed of the perfect natural delivery with my partner and midwife by my side. While my laboring process was not exactly what I dreamed it would be I am still very, very pleased with the outcome. Melonie, has such a compassionate and calm energy that really aided in helping me center and trust my body. We laughed, googled, waddled, and sung until my sweet little girl arrived. When decisions had to be made I felt that my partner and I made the best decisions we could given out knowledge. Melonie, was also great at reminding me when I should ask questions for clarity and standing up for my musical choices when my birth guest did not approve. Beyond the birthing room, Melonie has been so supportive to my unconventional postpartum journey. While her role of my volunteer birth doula was complete, she still was there to help me get resources, for comforting, and reassurance. Throughout this new phase in my life, Melonie has also helped me to learn to trust myself, my skills, and my intuition.
