Linsey and Jen are very caring, helpful, and knowledgeable about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum issues. They met with my husband and me twice before the birth, sharing information with us and helping us pinpoint our birth preferences. They also met with us once after the birth to check up on us and make sure we were doing okay.
When my blood pressure was high at my 39 week checkup and my midwife wanted me to go to the hospital for additional testing, Linsey was really helpful in explaining to me what I would likely experience at the hospital with that additional testing. When my midwife strongly suggested inducing that day because of the high blood pressure, Linsey talked through the pros and cons with my husband and me and was a great sounding board to help us make an informed decision.
Although one of my birth preferences was to birth naturally with no medication, I decided part way through to get an epidual. Linsey was kind and nonjudgmental about that decision, which was wonderful because as a woman in the birthing process, I'm sure it would have been really upsetting to feel judged during such an important moment. Unfortunately, I ended up having to push for nearly 4 hours because my baby was turned a little sideways. Linsey offered valuable suggestions, and my husband and I think that her final suggestion of pointing the bottom of the bed downward a bit was one of the things that really helped to get our baby out!
After the birth, I had a few questions about breastfeeding, and Jen was really helpful with answering my questions over the phone. She made me feel better as a first time mom who sometimes felt she didn't know what she was doing!
I am really thankful to have had Jen and Linsey by my side for this process. Everything went really well and I have no regrets about how the birth process played out. Thank you!! :)
