If you are looking for a Doula, Elise is your woman! This was my second pregnancy. But it was my first time laboring, as I had a c-section with my first daughter who was breech. I was nervous about having the birth I wanted, a natural VBAC, because things did not go as planned the first time around. However, with Elise's support and guidance, I was able to successfully meet my goals. She provided a calm and reassuring presence and her meetings prepared me for labor. I had taken some birth classes that included visualizations and very specific breathing techniques. However, being on the other side, I feel as though those tools were not what helped me. The tools that Elise prepared me with- the stages of labor and what they might feel like, realistic coping mechanisms based on what worked for me and other tried and true techniques really helped.
