When my wife first came to me and brought the idea of a doula during our son's birth, I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't know why we would need another person in the delivery room. But I agreed to meet with Beth who my wife found online. After meeting with Beth and discussing the skills and knowledge that she could provide during labor, I reconsidered my initial belief and agreed to have her present during the labor and birth. Looking back I can tell it was one of the best decisions we've made because Beth was so helpful throughout the entire process, especially when it came to her medical knowledge, her techniques to help relax my wife, and her constant support of both my wife and I.
