For the birth of our first child, Maria was instrumental in getting us prepared for the birth and assisting us through the process as it actually happened. Simply, there are things you just cannot plan for no matter how much you prepare, and it was so helpful to have her wealth of knowledge and experience to lean on.
For us, leading up to labor, there were signs and symptoms we just didn’t understand. Better than Googling or calling the doctor, we had Maria to keep us on track—and she did.
During the labor, there were also predictable and normal obstacles, but they unfolded in ways we couldn’t fully anticipate. Again, it was great to have Maria to help us moderate between our goals, the realities of the situation, and the momentum of the nurses and doctors.
In selecting Maria, we interviewed several doulas (many of which much more expensive!). Maria was by far the most impressive, and we could not have been happier with her. She knew exactly what we wanted and did everything she could to help us achieve it.
