Kari was our doula for the birth of both of our sons (in 2014 and 2017). She was just starting out in 2014 and was a backup for another doula who we had contracted with. Surprise, surprise, I went into labor early and hadn’t even met Kari yet. We ended up being so happy that she was part of our team. She was patient, a great listener, she set me and my husband at ease, and her massage therapy comes in really handy. For our second birth experience, we were feeling much more confident, but we knew we wanted Kari again. I’m so glad we did work with her. Even though I had a fast, uneventful delivery, I knew that Kari would have been there for us in the toughest of circumstances.
Kari helps busy parents make sure that they have all of their bases covered prior to delivery, she’s a great resource when your due date is approaching and you really want to encourage your little one to be on his/her way (she’s trained in spinning babies and knows some other safe techniques to encourage labor). Her assistance after the delivery was also fantastic. I really looked forward to meeting her when I was home alone with our son. She helped me get started on tummy time, helped me avoid a couple of postpartum health concerns that I was worried about, and she’s great at helping one get connected with the Bloomington parenting community. I took full advantage of the reduced-price massages and the included post-partum massage. Such a great perk!
