Arti was our doula for the birth of our first child a month ago. I wasn't sure that I wanted a doula, but my mom had encouraged me to consider it, and after doing a bunch of research I contacted Arti through the BC Doulas website. i was immediately impressed by how prompt Arti was in getting back to me and how professional and organized she seemed. Our meetings were really informative and helped put my husband and I at ease. There are so many things to learn about when it comes to having your first baby, and Arti was a great guide. When I went into labour Arti came to our house to help, and I was really grateful for her support. I was feeling confident and handling contractions well with Arti's help with pressure and the TENS machine, even after we got to the hospital. Unfortunately we ended up having an emergency c section, but I feel that I probably could have delivered without any pain medication with Arti's support if there hadn't been an emergency. Avoiding the epidural wasn't even that important to me! I just honestly felt that with Arti's knowledge and support that labour, while difficult, was totally manageable. Arti is a great doula, and her enthusiasm, dedication, and knowledge were really helpful for us. Thanks Arti!
