Kari was a joy to work with! As a first time mom (with a history of loss), we approached finding the right doula with careful hands and hearts. Kari was one of several we met with and her personality and confidence won us over. She was sensitive to our needs and thoughtful in her approach. She gently reminded us of next steps and was BEYOND patient with our gazillion questions. Kari was accessible - whether through email or a text. Also, she is a licensed massage therapist, which is the ultimate win-win. She was able to work away my pregnancy aches and pains and help mitigate my stress, while she also got to know me and my body better. She goes above and beyond in her service and will pull out all stops if she thinks she has something to help (giving me candies, tea, scented oil samples, etc.). We even crashed a dance class together. In the end my little bean decided she was frank breech and wanted to stay that way. Though I did not labor, Kari was by my side prepping me for surgery by playing soft music and massaging anything to help me relax and keep my mind off of the c-section. She was able to join my husband and I in the delivery room (which I understand is a rare priviledge). She helped take pics while hubby was trying to support me. And maybe the most meaningful, our little Gabby had some respiratory issues and practitioners gathered around her, along with my husband. While I was still getting back together, in recovery from surgery, Kari acted as a translator between Gabby's care team and me (still on the table). Her encouragement and updates helped me keep my cool in a scary moment. To top it all off, Kari creates a birth story for all her littles. I cherish this and we love reliving the say we became parents. I am a mom now fully, but still see Kari for massage therapy. With Kari, you'll be in more than capable hands in your journey!
