One of the best decisions we've made during our pregnancy was hiring a Doula (or someone I'd like to call, "birth coach"). Kendal, btw, is someone I know from work and when I heard she's working on DONA certification, without a doubt, I needed her in my labor and delivery suite! During my long, painful labor, Kendal was there to remind me of all the coping mechanisms, pressing on some pressure points to relieve my aches and pains, reminded me that what I'm going thru is nothing but normal, etc. Above all these, she impacted our lives by making everything easier. My husband was even able to leave the hospital, went back home to feed and take care of Keiko and Kenji, did some grocery shopping, and just plainly took all the emotional stress off of his shoulders! So yes, I highly recommend a Doula, and not just any one, but Kendal!
