Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
I look back at my natural birth experience and what made it the success it was. There were various components that included choosing a provider that supported my birth plan, my supportive husband, and Heidi. I know that if Heidi was not a piece of the puzzle it would have gone differently. Heidi’s approach to birth, her experience and resources are some of the things that make her such a great partner in your birth. She told us some things to expect early on and everything she said turned out to be true. Heidi offered connections and resources for everything from pregnancy discomfort to breastfeeding. There are a few things I will remember about my labor. I will recall my husbands physical presence, holding his hands and feeling so close to him. To complement my husband’s support were Heidi’s words and voice. Her guidance was soothing and seemed to carried me through my contractions. She seemed to know exactly where I was with each contraction and what I was feeling. I grasped onto her words and direction. I truly believe it was this guidance from her gentle but strong and supportive voice that helped me avoid asking for pain management. When it came to pushing I sought her voice with each contraction. There was a lot of energy in the room and everyone was so encouraging but again she seemed to be the one who was right with me and knew what I was feeling and how to make the energy as productive as possible. I also remember when my husband left the room for a much needed break and a contraction started I reached out for hands and found Heidi’s and felt immediate comfort and confidence. She knew what I needed at exactly the right time. Everything from encouraging words, to snacks, lots of water etc ... The icing on the cake was the photos she took! I was so excited to find after the birth that some amazing moments were documented with great photos that we will cherish forever.
