Christine was the first and only doula we met with and we knew immediately that she was perfect for us! I was very nervous about my upcoming birth and she had this peaceful vibe that helped keep me calm (well, as calm as possible) leading up to the big day. My previous labor was pretty intense and I really felt like a doula would have been a big help. Well, I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually enjoyed my labor - well, most of it anyway! She does an amazing hip squeeze that made my contractions completely painless until the end. She suggested positions for comfort and was such a soothing presense. I used a midwife who was pretty hands-off so it was very reassuring to have Christine with us the whole time. She absolutely helped keep me calm and focused - and kept hubby and me entertained :) Luckily my birth went very smoothly but I knew I was in capable hands if needed. Hiring a doula was a big decision for us because of the cost and it was hard to spend the money but hubby and I agree that she was truly worth every penny and then some. I so wish I had Christine with me for my previous birth and would use her again without hesitation!
