I have been blessed to be able to give birth naturally (no pain medications, vaginal deliveries) to four children, without complications or necessary medical interventions. I have delivered at a military installation, and in large hospitals. With our third child, a doula was provided by the hospital to assist with our birth, and my pain was so great during delivery, that the doula was a tremendous help to both myself and my husband. Before that, we had no clue what a doula even was. The experience was so positive, that we set aside funds to be able to get a doula for baby number four, which we were fortunate enough to have in a birthing center. We were referred to Wendy Freeze from several other mothers on a holistic mama Facebook page. From our first meeting, we knew that Wendy would be a valuable and much needed addition to our birth team. From the start she provided a wealth of knowledge and I could tell that she had a good amount of experience behind everything she recommended. She didn't push anything on us, but instead took the time to get to know my husband and myself, what our birth wishes were, and where she could be the most help to us. When baby day arrived, she didnt let us down. She was a tremendous help to my husband and myself along with offering a very calming and reassuring presence to us both during the whole labor and delivery. Her massage techniques helped relieve my pain, and her suggestions and encouragement kept me calm and relaxed. It was by far the best labor I had ever experienced. If looking for a doula, I highly recommend Wendy for both the experienced and new mom alike. But don't just rely on her for the labor and delivery (Which she is amazing with btw) but utilize her knowledge and experience in the topics of nutrition, child rearing, and natural parenting too! She started as our doula, but in the end, has earned a spot as a lifetime family friend :)
