My husband and I hired Bethany as our doula for our first birth and we were so happy we did! We clicked with Bethany right away and were impressed at every step by her attention to detail and concern for our wishes. Our son was born at 38 weeks and 2 days and while I ended up laboring for much longer than I expected and ultimately had to deviate from my plan to have an entirely natural, unmedicated birth, my overall experience was beautiful and, for the most part, peaceful, largely due to Bethany's knowledge and guidance. She not only helped me through the pain of labor and convinced me time and time again that I could get through it on my own (which I did for about 15 hours), but she also helped my husband to play an active role in my labor so that we could share the experience as fully as possible.
