My husband and I were expecting our first child together and wanted to keep the birth as natural as possible. At the recommendation of friends and my doctor we started interviewing doulas. The moment Amethyst walked into our apartment we could tell she was the doula for us. Her positive attitude and peaceful energy put us both at ease immediately. We spent most of our first session together laughing. I was never nervous about the actual birth process and wanted to keep everything as relaxed and calm as possible. Amethyst really understood that. She picked up on the type of couple my husband and I are and immediately used that to guide us through our birth. Nothing about my birth went according to plan, except that a baby came out at the end, but it was beautiful and Amethyst was a part of that. She kept the laughter and love going, always knowing when to step in or take a step back. She was available, loving and supportive.
