I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Wendy if you are looking for a calm, trustworthy presence to attend and assist at your birth. She was the assistant for the natural homebirth of my son in 2014 and it would not have been as wonderful of an experience without her. She has a great sense of what a woman needs at any given time during birth. She seemed to intuitively know what I needed even when I didn't and would be there with encouragement or melt into the background when I needed space. Her demeanor is calm and grounding. She was like a rock, steady and reliable that I could lean on when I was feeling carried away by the work my body was doing. Childbirth is an overwhelming, powerful experience and Wendy helped keep my focus and control, especially during my extended pushing stage. I will never forget her face. I was locked onto her eyes when I heard my son's first cry and it was thanks to her gentle coaching, breathing assistance and support and the work of my wonderful midwife that both myself and my son came out of the birth whole, healthy and unscathed. She truly has a gift for welcoming new little lives into the world and I am forever grateful for her service and experience. I felt I could trust her and was comfortable with her from the moment I met her and she proved more than trustworthy during birth.
