Krishyon has been present at two of my three births and has provided home care after all three. She is thouhtful, knowledgeable, and particularly good at anticipating needs.
During labor and delivery, she maintains a professional manner without sacrificing personal connection. It is clear that she cares deeply about providing a positive experience for both mother and baby. Her attitude and language are both positive and encouraging. Krishyon knows multiple methods for relieving pain during labor and is good at explaining them to mothers like me who internalize and have difficulty focusing on outside stimuli during labor. I particularly appreciate her willingness to suggest new methods gently, and to "back off" from an idea that sounds unappealing. If she truly believes a particular suggestion would help, but I have been unwilling at first, Krishyon is good at respectfully bringing up the suggestion again. She is good at adapting to unique situations and cooperating with midwives, nurses, and other healthcare providers. She is not afraid to speak up for the mother and baby, however; she is very good at being the "voice" when I am unable to communicate and my husband is out of the room or uncertain what to do.
After delivery, Krishyon's observation skills are especially helpful. She sees things around the home that need to be cleaned/organized/accomplished and just does them so that I don't stress. She is extremely good with children and is very willing to help entertain siblings of the new baby. She emphasizes rest, healthy eating choices, and good hygiene. I have had her cook for my family; she is a wonderful chef. She is also a skilled lactation specialist, having spent many years as a leader for La Leche League. She has even stayed up in the night with the baby for me to help me better adjust to the newborn sleeping schedule.
My whole family loves her, especially my kids. Krishyon is my go-to doula each time, without a doubt.
