Prior to her talking to us about her doula services, I had only heard about it once in passing and didn't really know what it was about or how valuable it is to the birth process.
I can genuinely say that this is not just a job to her. With the level of care that she showed my wife, myself and our daughter, you would have thought it was her daughter being born.
During the initial consultation with her where she sold us on the benefits of the service, she brought us up to speed on what the entire birth process would entail, what things to listen out for that should cause concern, what questions to ask the doctors/midwives/nurses and how to go about making it clear to them that we want to stick as closly to to our birthplan as safety permits.
While at the hospital, as much as she was there to help, she made sure not to overshadow any one, and brought me along on the journey. I was there assisting with pain relieving/distracting massages, working on pressure points under her guidance, and providing overall emotional support.
My wife had a long labor process but I can confidently say that Kindle-Simone made that process much more bearable for my wife, and for that I will forever be grateful. She has premanently carved herself into our family's history, and we are all grateful to her for all she has done. At this point I can't think of any reason why anyone would not go with a doula to help ease the birth process, and I would even going as far as saying anyone interested should go with Kindle-Simone. I know I might be biased, but this is my story, so thats that! Kindle-Simone for president!!!
