Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
When we first met with her, we immediately knew we wanted to work with her for the birth of our first child - she took her time to explain exactly what her role was. My husband appreciated that and was on board when she said 'I'm there for you (husband) so you can take care of her'. In his eyes, he felt at ease knowing she was there in case he did not know what to do during labor. Aside from being so laid back, down to earth, funny and just an all around awesome person Heidi, she has a gift for making you feel comfortable, relaxed and focused. I don't remember a whole lot from labor - bits and pieces here and there but I remember the moment Heidi walked into the room at the hospital. I was just getting into active labor leaning over in pain and my husband was doing everything he had been coached to do and did a fabulous job...but I have to say the minute Heidi walked in she took action. She came in and sounded positive and excited and immediately asked the nurse for a bucket and got ice and water to put a washcloth on me and did anything and everything she could to make me more comfortable. I felt completely at ease (as much as I could during labor) knowing she was there. The birth class prep we did was amazing as it definitely gave us an idea of what we will be going through and how my husband and I would react and work together during labor. I think aside form the support during labor the best support she gave was in post partum care with the struggles of breastfeeding and all the worries and anxieties of being a new mom. She came over when we got home from the hospital and helped out so much to again, relax us and help us with breastfeeding. I am sad that our services are done with her and can not wait to hire her again when we have our second child. She is apart of our birth story and we were so glad to share that with her.
