I really can't say enough good things about Brenda. I did my due diligence in searching for a suitable doula. It was a last minute scramble due to unforeseen circumstances, but I had a good feeling about Brenda and her partner Erin when I read their profiles online. When I saw she had a last minute opening just weeks before my due date, I felt it must be meant to be… and I’m sure I was right. Not only was she an amazing support for me, she was wonderful for the rest of my support team who attended my birth. My mother and husband have been singing her praises since my delivery, and my two year old daughter instantly took to her.
The first half of my labour went very smoothly, with Brenda arriving at the hospital before us when I sent her a text just before midnight telling her my water had broken. The woman has some major endurance and enthusiastically kept up with my contractions that were right on top of eachother. When things took a turn for the worse, and hospital staff was less than cooperative, Brenda was right there doing her job trying to keep my spirits going through what turned into a horrific labour. We were all disappointed when I ultimately ended up with a second c-section, but she has continued to be encouraging and supportive long after the whole ordeal. She is a wonderful human being with a fantastic sense of humour, and I will forever cherish her presence at the birth of my beautiful baby girl… Not to mention, she gave me a fantastic post-partum care package full of homemade goodies! She truly is a lovely lady of many talents.
