We immediately felt comfortable with Heidi the first time we met her. She was knowledgeable and conveyed that she was a great resource and would be available ongoing. She was also encouraging about the childbirth prep we'd done already, and fit her ideas around our preferences smoothly. In the prep meetings we came to know her on a more intimate level and got to practice strategies for delivery. Our labor went much faster than we expected and we didn’t have the time to relax into it that we’d planned for. But Heidi responded quickly and kept us calm. Since we labored at both the birth center and the hospital, we felt lucky to have Heidi close by to support us and interface with the midwives and medical staff. Although the delivery did not go as we might have wanted, Heidi’s help was what we needed and were counting on. Throughout our time knowing her she has given us so much care and compassion, as well as a ton of valuable suggestions. She is a wonderful doula and birth and baby resource!
