Lisa was my postpartum doula. With no family support, Lisa was a lifesaver. She showed me how to bathe my baby, helped tremendously with breastfeeding support (I would not have been able to breastfeed without her help), showed me how to wear my baby in a variety of carriers and most importantly showed me how I could live my life with a baby without feeling completely lost. As a post partum mom I felt I had lost my sense of identity in that I was now caring for a helpless baby and I felt like I did not have a handle on the situation. Lisa gave me simple strategies to make sure I could care for the baby and care for myself too. That fostering of independence and confidence has continued to carry me to this day in my journey through motherhood. Thank you Lisa, I will never forget how you helped our family.
