Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
For all the Men out there that are questioning this Doula thing, I did too. Come on guys seriously, this birth think is not really our cup of tea. I truly wanted to be supportive and we went as a couple to birthing classes but I had VERY LITTLE idea how to support my wife through the birthing process. Heidi not only helped my wife through a very long and tricky delivery (which is her primary purpose), but she empowered me with clear and reassuring direction to enable me to support and help my wife through the whole birth. They told us in the birthing classes that there were many little fazes and emotions that my wife would go through. I was shocked at how many and how big they were, but mostly how quickly one thing that I was doing that had come across as loving and caring at one point was now the worst thing I could do. Heidi (I don’t know how) saw everything coming and enabled me in such a way that I was set and ready for each step as it came…except for the emotions, the pain your heart goes through as your wife endures and then breaks down from the physical pain and then the euphoric high of meeting your child! Nothing will prepare you for that and I would not miss it for the world. I am so thankful for the roll that Heidi played in our birth and I would be shocked if she did not play the same role in our next childs delivery.
