Because of Shari, I was able to work through some issues I had with my first birth; plan a homebirth late in the game, when I didn't think it was something I could afford; navigate the system and take charge when hospital and NICU staff continually disregarded my wishes secure donor milk when I needed to have medical tests done a week postpartum. That's just off the top of my head.
