I wanted to have a doula for my first birth experience as I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to be mentally prepared, emotionally supported, and have someone in my corner at the hospital. I decided to work with Jen immediately after talking to her -- her aura, energy and wisdom were bursting through the screen and I got so excited to have found her. She came for prenatal visits, taking me and my husband through different positions, helping me figure out my pump, making a hospital plan, and answering any questions I had with in-depth knowledge. And when the time came to give birth, she made all the difference. She prepared my hospital room, communicated with my doctor and nurses, and found the right technique for my husband when my contractions hit. I had a magical birth experience thanks to Jen and pushed my baby out in 30 minutes with no tearing! She did hot compresses between each push, and was the main person by my side and took care of me after I hot an infection from meconium. Most importantly, Jen made me believe I could do it, and her support meant thr world to my me and my husband!
