Kseniya is truly an amazing doula and an even more amazing person! During the last month of my pregnancy, I switched from a Northwell OBGYN to the Stony Brook Midwives because I wanted more autonomy and a personal birth experience. I knew I wanted a doula and was so lucky to find Kseniya through the Stony Brook Doula Association!
Although we only met about a month before my due date, she immediately made me feel like family. She came to my home to teach me labor techniques, show my husband how to support me, and discuss my birth preferences. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt prepared and supported.
When I unexpectedly needed an induction after my water broke, Kseniya stayed in constant communication, helping me navigate the changes and keeping me calm. Once active labor began, she came to the hospital and helped me work toward my dream of a natural, unmedicated birth.
She transformed my hospital room into a peaceful sanctuary with galaxy lights, LED candles, aromatherapy, affirmation cards, and a sound machine. She constantly encouraged me, reminded me of my strength, held my hand, and guided me through the difficult moments. She even captured beautiful pictures of the moment I finally met and held my baby boy. Those memories mean the world to me!
Her support didn't end after delivery. She followed up after we came home, provided a postpartum visit, and still checks in to see how we're doing. It truly shows how much she cares.
I cannot recommend Kseniya enough! She listens, respects your wishes, advocates for you, and makes you feel safe, heard, and empowered. I will forever be grateful she was part of my birth story! ??
