Melissa was everything we hoped for in a doula, and more!
We can’t say enough good things about Melissa. From our first meeting she was kind, gentle and caring, and that never changed. She was very hands-on during the whole pregnancy. She checked in with us often and gave us lots of great body preparation resources, so I physically felt ready for birth.
We had three in-person meetings to map out our birth preparation, our birth plan and our postpartum plan. She gave us so much of her time, and we never once felt rushed. She kept my goals in mind the whole way through, and I felt fully supported.
When our son decided to arrive four weeks early, Melissa was essential. She rushed to the hospital, and the moment she walked into the room I relaxed and found my focus. She coached me through transition, gave me just the right amount of hip pressure and suggested positions that helped. She was the gentle, calming presence I needed.
After the birth she stayed with us. She helped with our first breastfeeding and helped us settle into the postpartum room. In the weeks that followed, she texted every few days to check on us and came for two in-home visits.
Melissa gives so much value for her services. We are so grateful for her, and I will absolutely have her as my doula again. If you’re thinking about hiring a doula, don’t hesitate. Melissa is THE one.
