I truly cannot recommend Jill enough. We were lucky enough to have her as our doula for both of our children’s births, and I honestly can’t imagine either experience without her. They were two completely different birth experiences—one was a planned induction with an epidural, and the other was an unplanned, unmedicated birth.
When labor started with our son, Jill gave various suggestions to help get things moving. She came over to our house once my contractions got stronger and helped me find comfortable positions to labor in at home. She was also the one who told me it was time to head to the hospital, even though I wasn’t entirely convinced I was far enough along (lol).
Thank goodness she trusted her instincts, because our son was born just an hour and a half after we arrived at the hospital! We almost had an accidental home birth. ??
I had planned on getting an epidural, but labor progressed so quickly that there just wasn’t time for it to kick in. I ended up having an unplanned unmedicated birth, and I genuinely don’t think I could have gotten through it without Jill. When things got really intense, I kept thinking (and yelling) that I couldn’t do it, but she was right there helping me through each contraction. It was honestly the most physically challenging experience of my life.
Jill has so much experience, and I always felt completely comfortable leaning on her with all of my questions. Honestly, just being able to let go and let Jill tell me what to do was a godsend in itself. She’s also funny as hell and just a really special human with a good soul.
Having had Jill with me for two very different births, I can wholeheartedly recommend her for any kind of birth plan. I promise you’ll be so glad that she was by your side!
