We had Sofia as our nighttime doula for the first 7 weeks after our baby was born, and we are so grateful for her!
Her flexibility meant everything to us. Our baby was born 4 weeks early. I started having contractions early Friday morning and gave birth early Saturday morning. I messaged Sofia on my way to the hospital, again after the birth, and again on Sunday when we knew we were going home that day. She was available to start that Monday, much earlier than we had originally planned.
As first-time parents, we appreciated her knowledge and her empathy. She gave us clear information to help us make our own decisions, on things like pacifier pros and cons and breastfeeding, instead of just telling us what to do. She also always asked permission before trying something new, like when she suggested a coconut oil massage to help relax our baby before bedtime.
She also helped us notice the things we did not know how to notice yet, like when it was time to increase feeding volume, especially with a preemie, and when it might be time to size up in diapers.
Most of all, Sofia is a wonderful and caring person. Having her care for our baby overnight let me focus on recovery, and we felt supported the whole time. We would recommend her without hesitation.
