She has such a light about her and in the stressful moments she really was able to level set with kindness and compassion. Her personality is the kind of person you want to be around supporting and rooting for you in the midst of an intense moment, and I couldn’t imagine another person helping me through this journey. She was calm and grounded when my water broke but we assumed it was my mucus plug, even during my delivery when the epidural didn’t fully take on both sides and I got an infection before pushing. She joined my husband in sleeping upright in a chair all night to be on hand to help me, even though I was laboring with an epidural. She even had to rush back to the hospital after I progressed 7 cms in a few hours after laboring all night. I always felt she had my back, even in that dramatic and unexpected moment. I remember after I gave birth her just smiling and supporting me in breastfeeding (which helped set me up for a healthy first month of exclusively breast feeding) and I had a moment in the craziness where I looked at her and thought “I’m going to be ok.” A lot of people were there to see the baby, but Tata was there for me!
Though I’m elated my daughter is now here with us, a little part of me was sad that my journey with Tata has come to an end. I will always remember how she showed up for me in this phase of my life, and I cannot recommend her enough. She makes me want to have another baby so we can do it all over again!
